LAUNCHING AN EC2 INSTACE.

Navigate the console. Search EC2 and click on it
Click launch instance
Note that you will be given an option either to use the old experience or the new experience
Give the instance a name. You can equally select the number of instances you want to create
At the application and OS image (Amazon Machine Image, AMI), choose any. We’ll be taking the free tire amazon Linux
At the instance type, they range from a to z and small. To extra-large. Select the t2.micro since it’s the free tier
At the key pair, depending on where you are launching it from either select the key pair made previously or create one
At the network setting, click edit
select the VPC within the region you’re in which is correctly, the subnet and enable auto IP
For the firewall/ security group, select create, give it a name and describe
For the inbound rules, if not already there, add security group and select ssh
You can increase the storage capacity to your desired volume at the configure storage. Click launch instance
NOTE THAT IF YOU EXPERIENCE AN ERROR REGARDING THE SUBNET YOU CHOSE, CHANGE TO A DIFFERENT SUBNET AND CONTINUE
Before we ssh into the instance, ensure that the instance state is “running”. Select the created instance and click connect. Go to the ssh section of the page
Instance state and status check running and 2/2 check respectively
Copy the bash code under the example:
Navigate gitbash to location of key pair and paste the code you copied
Once successfully SSHed into the system, this interface will appear
