Today is May 25, 2023. Yesterday, I published a YouTube video after a lot of hard work. Today, I need to publish ShowwcaseXS to the Chrome Store. I have already purchased the extension console by paying $5 to Google. Now, I need to complete the necessary details so that I can publish it today. If the review is completed within 24 hours, I will be able to launch it tomorrow, which is the last day of HackFest 2023.
I am having trouble publishing my Chrome extension. I have tried searching online and asking people for help, but I have not been able to find a solution. When I try to upload the extension, I get an error message, but it does not specify what the error is. I need to figure this out as soon as possible because I cannot delay the publish of ShowwcaseXS anymore.
Finally, I figured out the problem. It was not a big deal. I just needed to enable two-factor authentication on my account. I forgot to mention in my previous blogs that you need to create a separate Google account to publish a Chrome extension. I was not able to pay the $5 fee when I tried to do it with my personal account. So, I created a new account for ShowwcaseXS and the payment went through.
I have finally completed everything and my extension is now under review. I am hoping that the review will be completed as soon as possible. If the extension is not published by tomorrow, I will have to create a repository with the content script and manifest.json
file so that people can add the extension locally and use it.
Tomorrow, I will complete the main blog post and create a repository along with a README file that shows how to install and use the extension. But if the extension gets published then I don't have to do that.
