About
As a former competitive gamer, I enjoy needing to use the multitude of team characteristics needed to succeed. Trusting your teammates, giving constructive feedback, changing leadership accordingly, and making smart decisions. These are some of the aspects that drew me in to programming, as they share similar characteristics to succeed. I decided to pick up computer science as a minor at University of California, Santa Cruz, after seeing my friends work together on a project. The communication and team aspect of programming is what drew me in initially. The satisfaction one gets after seeing the finished product is what made me stay.
The last year I have learned a plethora of different languages and technologies with a focus on ruby on rails, javascript, and react. I made a clone of Yelp using rails as my backend and React as my front end. Additionally, I made a game, the Binding of JSaac, using MongoDB as my backend, Express as my web framework, React as my frontend framework, and Node.js to execute my javascript code. The Binding of JSaac was made with 3 other group members
I collaborate well with other people. Furthermore, I have a great sense of humor and bring energy to the group. My adaptability ensures that I can be versatile in being a frontend or backend developer. My wide range of technologies and skills I have learned throughout the year will be valuable should the company decide to change languages or technologies.
