Global Developer Showcase - August 2022

Every month, on the Showwcase platform, we have a showcase contest centered around a specific theme where developers can submit their Shows.

At the end of the contest, we will select the best shows across the entire community and award cash prizes and bragging rights!

The Global Developer Showcase (GDS - August) will kick off on the 5th of August and will be open till the 25th of August.

The theme is #MyDevStory

Tell us about how you got into tech, what drove you to become a developer, what you recently built, your most memorable interview.

Whether you are a working professional, student, mad coder, as long as you know how to code and can build, you are a developer and we would like your story shared with the community.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of suggestions:

How I cracked my Google coding interview

My 10 years in tech

How I deal with the feeling of imposter syndrome in tech

How I got started with open source

My motivation behind building weekend projects

Why I create content as a developer

A day in the life of a ‘X’ developer at ‘Y’ (where X could be your tech stack like React and Y could be the company you work at)

How I built a side-income stream for myself as a developer

Again, these are just suggestive topics. Feel free to write about anything that tells your developer journey in the best possible way.

Here’s how you can participate in the challenge:

Write a Show that aligns with the topic for GDS as mentioned above

Include the hashtags #MyDevStory and #GDSAugust in the title of the show and as tags in the Show

YOU MUST remember to use tags MyDevStory and GDSAugust as tags on Showwcase or we won’t be able to find your submission.

Once all the submissions are made, our team of experts will go through all the Shows and choose a few best ones out of them based on these factors:

The writing style of the Show

The Story that is being told

Medias used (images, videos, gifs)

Completeness of the show (links, references, etc)

The number of likes on the show (Make sure that you share it everywhere!)

For the prizes, we will be giving away cash awards of $100 each to the top 5 entries during each GDS.

We may even extend this if we see incredible Shows coming in!

At the end of the day, the cash awards are just an extra reward. What’s most important is the bragging rights and future collaborations you will have with Team Showwcase and our more comprehensive network ;)

Spread the news with the maximum number of devs so that we get to hear a wide variety of developer stories this month and get to know a little about each other’s journey.

Sorry, for now, you will be able to write just 1 entry per GDS so make sure to give it your best shot. But don’t worry, we will be back with another GDS next month and you can take part in that!
