βThere are many developers especially, developers those who don't have a PC or those who want to work on the go or those whose theirs broke down.
And their working platform is jupyter notebook and might be thinking, How would I keep coding while I don't have a pc to use my jupyter notebook? Don't worry for the there is a solution for you here, for you can now use jupyter notebook on your mobile phone.
I normally say this, but when I say Mobile phone I mean Android users. I don't use iOS and some of these apps are not available on them.
It might seem complicated to use this on your Mobile phone. And there's no application called "jupyter notebook" on mobile phone app stores. And you can't just launch it on your browser without doing certain kind of configurations. And these below are the procedures for getting started with jupyter notebook on your mobile phone;
Downloading and Installing Python IDE - Pydroid 3π
The first thing we should do is download Python IDE for mobile. Pydroid 3 is the best mobile phone Python IDE for developers. It is the best mobile IDE for Python programming. It supports numerous frameworks and libraries such as matplotlib, pandas, Django, OpenCv many more. It has an inbuilt terminal for commands. It has a very interactive interface for programming.
You can get this application on Google PlayStore. After installation, you need to also instaβall the repository plugin. If this is not installed some libraries and frameworks won't install or work in the application. It's also available on PlayStore along with the Pydriod 3 application.
After both are installed, then open the Pydroid 3 application (you won't see the repository plugin as an application in your mobile phone but it's there in your system). When open the application check around it and see how cool it is...lol
So let's keep going, click on the hamburger navigator at the top left corner of the application.
After you click on it, β you will get a page similar to mine below. Click on Pip, and from there we can install libraries
After you click on the pip tab, you will get a screen where you will see Libraries, βSearch libraries, install, and quick install. β Here you can search for Jupyter Notebook by inputting the keyword "Jupyter" or just click on the quick install tap and you will see Jupyter down there. Click install and you will see it installing.
After it has been installed completely, head back to the navigation panel and click on the Terminalβ.
When the terminal is opened, type in the keyword below and hit enter
jupyter notebook
Immediately the Jupyter Notebook will launch, prompting you to choose a browser if there is no default browser set on your device.
After you choose a browser to open it with. You should have a screen similar to mine below, from here you can enjoy your Jupyter Notebook as it is on PC.
β
Whew!!!! , Our Jupyter Notebook is live now, Awesome.
If you want to use libraries like Numpy, Pandas, and others on the Jupyter Notebook, you have to go back to Pydriod 3 app and install it using Pip as we did above. Then you can now use them on the Jupyter Notebook.
Thank you for reading this far, hope you enjoyed and learned from it. β If you happen to encounter any difficulty while installing and launching, say it in the comment section. If there's none like the article to show that you enjoyed it.
See you in our next Coding with Mobile Phones β and Hacks.
